Episode 39: Chocolate Donuts…….

Listen Here:

Shout- Outs!

Velvetowl’s Gnarled Oak Cardigan, Victoriablue’s Top Down Crochet Jacket, and Susanvknit’s Marathon Scarf

Off Our Needles:

Susan finally has her Garland  off her needles, just in time for the return of cold weather here in Boston!

And Susan contributed a Boston Strong Scarf to the Boston Marathon Scarf Project.

Kris finished the Lonely Tree Shawl.  Turned out well but is a bit small too — she is definitely going to go up a couple needle sizes on her next shawl projects.

On The Needles:

Susan still has her second Trillian going, and also cast on a summer-y Nangou with 3 colors of Classic Elite Firefly.  Susan’s  Asilomar cardigan is still going….

Kris is working on Romi Hill’s Zephyr Cove using the Dirty Water DyeWorks yarn she bought at the Library yarn sale.

Sally is slowly, slowly slowly working on her Color Affection. She pledges to finish it by May 15. but don’t hold your breath.knitting starbucks

In Our Queues:

Susan is itching to begin casting on some new projects! Like Vera Valimaki’s Urban , or Whispers- 2 short-sleeved , fingering weight pullovers for spring layering. As for shawls, Kinta is a lovely triangle eyelet shawl, and Kalimna . The Spring Infinity Lace Scarf is a lovely accessory for spring and summer!

Kris received the second pattern from the Strickmich! Club — a lovely little kerchief called Samadhi knit with welthase fingering merino light in the “Blue Blessing” colorway.

She is also admiring Carrie Bostick Hoge’s Lola Shawl — the pattern was just published in the latest issue of Taproot magazine — and happens to have some Quince & Co Finch in her stash!

And she is interested in Ambah’s Kalimna (which is also in Susan’s queue) and the Pirra Necklace.

In Our Stashes:

Susan added one rather large skein of Cascade Eco from Web’s Anniversary sale…it will be Jane Richmond’s Inland cardigan.

On Our Bookshelves:

Susan is on an Ann Cleeves binge- 3 Shetland mysteries down, and 2 Vera Stanhope mysteries: The Crow trap and Silent Voices.

Also, on the Kindle: The Woman Upstairs by Claire Messud

Kris got halfway through The Goldfinch but is taking a little break — beautifully written but very intense.

Sally read They Danced By The Light Of The Moon by Tempa Pagel. Set in Newburyport, MA, this Mystery laced with history and historical architecture is a fun read, especially if you’ve been to the area.

On Our Kitchen Shelves:

Chocolate Donut recipe came from Jennie Perillo’s Homemade with Love.  Same recipe is here.

That’s all for now, here’s a yarn bombing spied at the Newton Free Library.yarn bombing nfl
