Ladies Of The Knit, episode 2

Listen here Episode 2
On Our needles:
In this episode we talked about Susan’s Abigail Cardi (ravelry link), and the pro’s and cons of reverse stockinette stitch.

We talked about Sally’s Soay Sweater, and puzzled over set-in sleeves.
We also talked about Kris’s Modern Garden Sweater, and the appearance of “sausage arms”. We lamented that between us we have 106 years of knitting experience, and we still face these conundrums. That is our pleasure and our pain.

In Our Queue:
Sally got inspired by a trip to Yarns In The Farms, and she is looking forward to casting on for a Floofy Skirt (Ravelry link) for her daughter. (Her daughter’s friend’s mom is going to make one too. This will not be competitive.) Kris has purchased the first The Shetland Trader book, and is contemplating the Homin shawl (Ravelry Link), with some sort of pattern tracking scaffolding in place. She and Susan are also eager to knit up the A Gray Loop Cowl (Ravelry link), and we are all drooling over the Pinkerton shawl (Ravelry Link) which we discovered in the latest Interweave Knits.

For Our Stash:
We also talked about fibre and patterns we covet:
Hilltop Handspun
Fox Fiber Designs and Yarn
Quince And Co.

On Our Bookshelves:
And we all gushed over our latest mystery find: A Small Death In The Great Glen. Another is coming out in September 2011, and not a minute too soon, as far as we can tell.

For Our Fortification:
We also moaned about our Iced Coffee making skills and techniques we’ve tried, and then Sally had to rhapsodize about a  Ginger Lemonade Recipe. We are all going to try this before the summer is out.

As always, if you have yarn, or patterns, or books, or recipes you want us to touch,  look at, read, try, taste,  just leave us a comment. Don’t be a stranger.

And may all your days be knitting days.
