Episode 22: “Still Froggin’ After All These Years”

Listen Here

In this episode Kris realized that our true theme is how much experience we have as knitters, and how many mistakes we make anyway. Here’s what we were going on about.

Off The Needles:

Susan finished a sleeve of her Edge Hoodie by Veronik Avery. This may not  count as a FO, but it was such an undertaking that she had to share.

Sweet “Starling”

She also finished her gorgeous Starling , by Cecile Glowik MacDonald.
Sally finished her TGV in the crazy fall colors from Hilltop Handspun. She loves it! She also finished the cool Knotty But Nice hat from Knitty. This was such a fun project that she immediately wanted to cast on for another.
Kris finished her beautiful All About Love Shawl, and Sally is ready to cast on for one of those too.

On The Needles:

Kris cast on for Color Affection from some amazing yarn from the Plucky Knitter. and we are all itching to knitalong. Susan is working on a beautiful Trillian and a Hyla Brook shawl that she cast on for during the hurricane.

Hyla Brook

Sally is slogging away on a pair of Double Cuff Mittens. She was having some misgivings about the felting process until Kris reminded her of a useful article Knitty.

In The Stash:

Susan swooped up some Kraemer Sterling Silk and Silver At the Yarn Basket shop in Eastham,MA.
Sal wants to go to Webs
Susan wants to go to Vogue Knitting Live
Kris is going to stay  home.

Kris is helping organize a Craft Book & Yarn sale  Saturday December 8  from 11am to 2pm at: Roslindale Branch Library4238 Washington St. Roslindale, MA 02131 (see previous post for more information) Come! Buy books and yarn! Destash!

In The Queue:

Sally ducked into Putting On The Knits on an emergency needle expedition and fell in love with Itty Bitty Toys by Susan Anderson. she wants to knit the entire book. She has also borrowed Twist and Loop from her local library and is planning to make several Christmas presents. Susan is not going to get sucked into the Christmas scramble this year. She is having a dilemma over which sweater to cast on next. Will it be Boxy or Katie? (We all loved this new pattern. It’s a simple sweater with a splash of fair isle.) She is also eyeing Jane Richmond’s new collection Island.
