We are only 2 Ladies of the Knit this episode- Kris couldn’t join us. We can’t wait to see her next time. We hear she went to Loop in Philly and added to her stash. However, Sally and Susan are very excited about their first trip to Rhinebeck!
Off The Needles:
On The Needles:
Sally is heading into the homestretch on her Aftur. She is hoping the long bus ride to and from Rhinebeck will finish this baby off. It is wonderful to knit with this Icelandic yarn. The floats sort of stick to the back of the knitting with Lopi yarn, making it easy to work the Fair Isle pattern.
Susan is working on another pair of One Cable Mitts (because it’s almost mitt season), and a beautiful Traveling Vines Cowl, by Susan Shelby.
In Our Queues:
In Our Stash:
We are waiting for Rhinebeck. Stay tuned for some serious damage.
On Our Bookshelves:
Susan read A Light In The Ruins, By Chris Bohjalian. This sounds like a must read.
Sally is reading North Sea Requiem by A.D. Scott, and loves it. Knitwear designers turn out to be pretty good yarn spinners too.
She has also discovered the virtues of Overdrive and has listened to Sisterland, by Curtis Sittenfeld, (I think you’re going to like it) and Johnny Tremain, by Ester Forbes. This was a great way to entertain the family during our long car trip Columbus Day weekend. This classic has a very compelling story, with Boston roots, which makes it even more fun from a local angle.
That about wraps it up. Knit on!
