Episode 35: Knitting for Snow!

Listen Here!

Casting on for winter and the holidays  here in Boston!

Off Our Needles:

Susan finished a few little  gift-y projects, like the Petite Pines,

A cup cozy, and another cup cozy, George the Sock Monkey!  Also, these odd looking Bike Helmet Ear Warmers!IMG_2910

On Our Needles:

Kris is still making her way through the One x One, Two x Two, from Churchmouse. It’s slow but relaxing knitting, great for TV or hanging out with friends — and the color changes are motivating and very pretty.

Great color changes!

She’s also started Zuzu’s Petals, from a great suggestion by knittingbarb from Two Knit Lit Chicks — it’s perfect for the Freia that she impulsively bought at Loop!

Susan still has the Featherweight cardigan in Quince Tern on the needles: soon to be off! Also on is an Easy Ribbed Scarf in Malabrigo Worsted for a nephew.

In Our Stash:

Kris resisted and resisted and resisted and then signed up for Martina Behm’s new Strickmich!Club — four patterns with yarn in 2014.  She is now on a yarn fast!

Susan added one skein of Madtosh Vintage in the Begonia Leaf colorway: so pretty! (Project to be determined).

In the Queue:

Kris is intrigued by both Howlcat (a cowl/hat combo) and Harf (a hat/scarf combo) probably because of the very cold weather in Boston right now.  Aude from Berroco was also added to the queue but is unfortunately not available as a single pattern.

High up on Susan’s queue is Garland, will also be a stashbuster!

On Our Bookshelves:

Kris finished A.D. Scott’s fourth book in her Scottish mystery series.  Despite getting more and more squeamish about the violence in mysteries, she enjoys the characters in this series set in the 1950s.  She also read Telegraph Avenue for her book club and really liked it!

Susan is deep into The Goldfinch, from a strong recommendation from the Books on the Nightstand podcast.
